This Week: Upgrades for 71-Haight, Howard Street Bike Lane

The SFMTA will hold two open house community meetings this week: One on Muni improvements along Haight Street, and another on adding a buffer to the Howard Street bike lane.

Here are the highlights from the Streetsblog calendar:

  • Monday: The SFMTA will hold an open house tonight on Transit Effectiveness Project improvements that will speed up Muni’s 71-Haight/Noriega line. All along Haight Street, the SFMTA has proposed converting stop signs to transit-priority traffic signals and traffic-calmed intersections, and adding bus bulb-outs. 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: The SFMTA hosts an open house on upgrading Howard Street’s skinny bike lane to a buffered bike lane between Sixth and Tenth Streets in SoMa. The project would be similar to parallel Folsom Street, and also include painted sidewalk bulb-outs. 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Keep an eye on the calendar for updated listings. Got an event we should know about? Drop us a line.
