"Architect David Baker explores how transit-oriented developments serve as a mechanism by which residents are able to make changes to their carbon-reliant lives. Using his firm’s current projects as examples—three high-density, green, mixed-use affordable TOD projects at BART stations in the Bay Area and at a light-rail station in Sacramento—he will outline merits of and strategies for designing and promoting effective TOD communities. These projects are all part of the Prop 1-C Transit-Oriented Development program, California’s effort to add high-density uses at transit stations."
